WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 11 - Daventry Firsts
22 Wellingborough 42
After conceding two converted tries
after sloppy play at the start of their
game against Wellingborough, Daventry
upped the stakes.
Good darting runs from Terry Cooper,
Alistair Brighton and Adam Whitehead
probed deep into Wells' half. Brighton
picked up two tries, both converted by
Hewitt.
Veteran prop Billy Carter and Kev Willis
applied pressure to Wells' scrum and Lee
Collett crashed through and offloaded to
Richard Bull who scored.
In the second-half Wellingborough's
backs cut lines through a tired-looking
Daventry defence.
Daventry battled on with man of the
match Jason Cooper leading the way. But
the All Blacks missed out on the points.
